![]() The specification originates in the paper Universal Synthesizer Interface published by Dave Smith and Chet Wood of Sequential Circuits at the 1981 Audio Engineering Society conference in New York City. MIDI ( / ˈ m ɪ d i/ Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a technical standard that describes a communications protocol, digital interface, and electrical connectors that connect a wide variety of electronic musical instruments, computers, and related audio devices for playing, editing, and recording music. This system fits into a single rack case, but before the advent of MIDI, it would have required four separate full-size keyboard instruments, plus outboard mixing and effects units. In addition, there are wonderful solo cello, concert organs, symphonic choirs and epic drums.Using MIDI, a single controller (often a musical keyboard, as pictured here) can play multiple electronic instruments, which increases the portability and flexibility of stage setups. You will find numerous tutti and staccato orchestras as well as string ensembles of various sizes. With the brand-new “KApro Orchestral Dreams” Library, KApro offers a selection of orchestral, epic sounds in stunning quality for KORG MODULE. There are multiple levels of velocity layers with nice dynamic range from soft to strong notes and plenty off FX presets.” We wanted to have the very best possible sustain on each key, perfect balance of tone, crystal clear bell brilliance and plenty of bark too. Here’s Scarbee himself describing his library: “Passionately sampled 88 key electric piano from the mid 70’s – designed and programmed to deliver true, soulful and inspiring authenticity. SCARBEE, one of our favorite sample library developers, has teamed up with KORG to faithfully recreate a mobile version of their latest and the best electric piano instrument: “Classic EP-88S” (simply a must-have if you have Kontakt on your desktop computer!). Heads-up: KORG Module and its libraries are currently ON SALE (50% off) for a limited time. ![]()
